| First,
let's go over what we covered on the operations
page. Before we can go any further with your
offshore oil rig job search, it's imperative we're both on
the same page. I provide reliable information for you to make
intelligent decisions as to what is best for you. I am not
responsible for those decisions.
I
provide professional services which can assist you in your
job search. You are not required to purchase these service
to use this site. People have purchased our professioinal
services and found work in the oilfield, but it is not guarnateed.
People have used the FREE part of this site and found work:
Hey
Captain!!
Thank you so much for the information on your website
about the offshore industry. Because of the information
in your guide, I landed an interview and my first
oilfield job on my first phone call.
I should go in for training and to get my certifications
in the next
1-2 weeks. I need to have my resume' taken off of
the 'active' list please. As much as I'd love for
employers to see me and get my name in their heads,
it is no longer necessary.
Again, thank you for the excellent info - you were
totally right - there is no magic HIRE ME button.
Just hard work, and when you get to see the recruiter
SELL YOURSELF!! I've got no oilfield
experience, and he didn't think twice! Anyhow, thanks
again - I will be referring people!

There
is no such thing as guaranteed employment.
If
you believe there is, (or believe there should be) you are
on the wrong page. This site is about the real world. If you
need a fantasy job site, go elsewhere. You cannot just pick
up a phone and say "hire me" and you are hired.
There is no "hire
me" link on the web anywhere. Most people
know and accept this as a fact. However, for some, when
they get on the web, they lose all sense of reality.
"They
just don't get it." as Dr. Phil says. The operations
page is my best shot in helping people to "get it".
Getting it means you understand assignment of responsibility.
Who does the final responsibility of finding your job go to?
If you picked anyone but yourself, go back and read the operations
page again. There is nothing I can do for you at this time.
I will not be able to help, advise, assist, or direct you
in any way until we are in complete agreement as to who is
ultimately responsible for you.
A
lot of people write me asking for advice and I can tell from
their questions they have not bothered to read my material
(the instructions). I'm sure they've seen the page, I go out
of my way to make sure everyone sees the instructions as to
what is required. But having everyone see the page and having
everyone read and understand it are two different things.
Some
people, once they realize this is going to require effort
on their part, are out of here faster than you can say oilrig.
That's why the scam sites stay so busy. They cater to the
fantasy job seeker who believes paying money guarantees them
a job because the web site said it is so. They think (or have
been led to believe) they can get out of the responsibility
of making personal contact and follow ups by using "resumé
blasting services" (more on these later).
By
far, the easiest way to get an offshore, oilfield, oil rig
maritime job is through the recommendation from someone who
already works offshore. This is a simple and straight forward
method. You call your brother, brother in law, uncle, etc.,
who works offshore and tell them you want a job. He then calls
personnel, they find an opening for you, you go in for an
interview and physical and PRESTO, you're on your way to the
rigs.
While
this is the most direct route known, and it is how many of
the workers on the rigs get hired, the majority of people
just do not have those kinds of connections. I'm going to
walk you through, step by step, on how to get on.
This process
has been developed from my own experience and the experience
of others. While it is tried and true and has been proven
to be the most reliable information available concerning the
subject, it is not a guarantee. If you do everything exactly
as I have outlined and still don't get a job:
- Repeat
the process
- If
it does not work the second time, repeat it again
- Keep
repeating it until you get hired or give up trying
Good luck!

Well,
that's about all I know on how to get a an offshore job. I
imagine it is more than enough to get you started in the right
direction. If you know of anything I have missed, please let
me know. I have been doing this for sometime
now, but that certainly does not mean I know there all there
is to know about the subject.
