South Africa Oil Rig Employment Agency

Dear Ron, 

I hope you can remember me it is the young woman from South Africa here, Jacqui. If you recall you sent me the Y2K Directory last year and wished me luck in finding employment on one of the oil rigs well do I have a story for you.

We managed to make contact with a company here in South Africa and for a small fee he promised to find a company that would employ us overseas on the rigs after having the necessary blood tests done and money paid we all waited patiently. 

We were promised to leave in January then February and finally March was supposed to be the final date of our departure. We found out today that this company has not been all it was said to be and the gentleman is up on fraud charges. He robbed thousands of people of there monies. I am sorry to burden you with this its just that we are now 2 women and 3 men that are wanting to work on the offshore or onshore rigs and would appreciate assistance if you have any.

After waiting 6 months and then to be told it was all for nothing is really upsetting and I hope that you can help us.

Yes, by all means use this information on your site to help anyone who might be taken as a fool by a scam such as this. The person's name who did this is John Labaschange, the name of his site was Baron Enterprises, but it has been shut down.

He told us he would get us a job and I gave up a job because he gave us dates of departure which he then changed several times. There were over 5000 people caught up in this scam. We all took blood tests and paid a fee to him. It was all lies.

His court case will be tomorrow. I will keep you posted as to what happens. The whole bad thing now is that we 5 people that sacrificed so much have lost so much. But we shall keep trying to find a company that will assist us in finding work on the rigs. Looking forward to hearing from you.
